WOW! So, those are the new additions to the Posh Fam! Today is the day we have been working on for months...to introduce the new spring line and make you guys fall in LOVE. We hope you love the new line as much as we do. The playful colors, sweet ruffles, and fun new styles make this the most versatile line we have made so far. These dresses can all be found under the Spring 2012 tab on our website .

So, let's talk about the actual photo shoot. I made the grey ruffle background and LOVE it. I am actually thinking about selling them, so photographers...stay tuned for that :) If I must say so, I think Posh Principessa and Bliss Eleven work so well together. I love how Laurie is able to capture the "Posh" style just right!! So, thanks Laurie for the amazing photos!! And of course, we can't forget about the ADORABLE made-to-match headbands from Pocket Full of Poseys. They are available to purchase here. We also used a new accessory for this photo shoot that we just adore... the chunky pearl necklaces. They are created from K Chic Designs and are just the right finishing touch to some of our new spring dresses. We used them with the Endless Love dress and the Spring Fever dress. LOVE them :)

We have been keeping busy planning Cinderella's Posh Tea Parties. It is kind of like planning a wedding, we have been planning and planning... and will be excited to see how it all comes together :) We will post pics soon in case you weren't able to attend!

Cinderella's Posh Tea Party on Show Me St. Louis

We were super excited when we received the email from Julie Tristan from Channel 5 ...Cinderella's Posh Tea Party was going to be featured on Show Me St. Louis. We were honored to work with Julie two years ago and had a blast. So, we knew great fun was in our near future...We were right!

If these four girls' smiles say anything about the upcoming Cinderella's Posh Tea Party, be ready for some fun! All of our Posh Principesse did an amazing job, and I really enjoyed watching them run around in their Posh gear. Here are some outakes of the shoot showing the events that will take place at the tea party.

Let's start off with Cinderella...she WILL be at the tea party:) Seeing the girls' eyes light up when Cinderella walked in the room was priceless!

Greg with My Handyworks will have exclusive Princess designs, a crown and Cinderella. I personally think they are the cutest ever. The girls use their hand prints and Greg draws in the design. This will be an additional cost, and there is no appointment needed. Oh and I was so excited to hang the finished product, I wanted to share how it looks in her playroom ;)

Next, there will be mini photo sessions with Laurie Nowling with Bliss Eleven Studios. The photo sessions will be about 5 minutes and will include 2 images (emailed to you). The cost for one princess to be in the shoot is $25. If you decide to add a sister or best friend, the cost is $40. Mommy's, if you decide to hop in the picture with your princess...there is no additional cost, as long as you promise to smile good for Laurie ;) Appointments must be made for this. If you have tickets to the event and decide you want to do this event, email us at poshprincipessa@gmail.com so we can give you a time.

Next, we will have Belleza hair salon. The price of your ticket includes a 5 minute mini-glam. This will be a quick hair do and light make-up. There will also be pink hair and feathers for an additional $10. By the way, Ava LOVES her pink hair and will not let me take it out.

Last but NOT least. We will have a runway show of our new Posh Principessa Spring 2012 line. We have a new styled pillowcase dress, a few fun knit dresses, and lots of ruffles. We will also have some great sales on our previous lines. Pocket Full of Poseys will also be there selling their made-to-match headbands.

And I just couldn't post outakes without posting this pic. I am getting interviewed while my daughter is doing backward rolls with her bottom up in the air facing the t.v. Oh...I love her so :)

Where oh Where has Posh Principessa been?

Let's face it...this time of year is crazy for everyone...crazy fun...but still crazy! Throw planning 2 birthday parties, training for a marathon, planning Disney vaca, my basketball number getting retired, a family mini XMAS vaca, producing the Spring 2012 Posh Principessa line, planning Cinderella's Posh Tea Party all during the month of Christmas... and you get one busy momma :)

So, where have I been...why have I been MIA?? Although, I rarely do custom orders anymore...I have done quite a few this month for my Posh Princess and my Posh Prince. I'd love to share...so here it goes...

I will show you a sneak peek of one of my many projects...my son's birthday party (more pics to follow after his party :) We did a superhero theme for him and I HAD A BLAST. Here is one picture taken by http://www.blisseleven.com/ that we did for the invites. I love them. Super Roc melts my heart and this is why...

So, after 15 years...my basketball number 21 got retired at my high school. The minute I found out...I knew just what my daughter would wear to the ceremony (yes this is a priority, ha). I found an old Final Four shirt of mine and turned it into a dress. Now our high school colors are not the most fun, no pink and green, but watching my daughter run around in my old final four shirt was priceless...

Here is another pic from that night that I will forever treasure. My parent's don't read my blog, so they won't ever see this but I will feel better getting this out there in the internet forever land...

They truly are the most amazing and supportive parents in the world. I had so many people come up to me that night congratulating me on my hard work...but really...they should have been congratulating my parents. They have been the best role models, teaching me hard work and dedication...they gave up their lives (basketball became their life) during my basketball years.
They supported me, rebounded for me countless hours at the gym, took me to games/practices, cheered like no other, never thought twice about forking over the money for yet another tournament/team/league, etc. THANKS MOM AND DAD...I love you :)

Onto the next project...DISNEY...need I say more. We are going to Disney and I am going to do the Goofy Challenge (half marathon, followed by a full marathon the next day). I am super excited to take on this challenge and to celebrate it with my family at the most magical place in the world. So, what does this mean for a mom who sews...I better get busy. I made an outfit for each day for my daughter and one shirt for my son, along with some signature books. One "dress" she already had and she can wear it as a tunic now :) Hopefully time will allow for me to make lil man one more thing. But here is my progress so far... (The best part is that I only bought ONE yard of fabric for all of these. The rest were scraps or fabric I already had...YEAH!)

Last but DEFINATELY not least... Cinderella's Posh Tea Party. We have been busy working with KJS events and Bliss Eleven to bring you the most magical mother/daughter date. We will have glamorous activities that are going to make your posh princess feel like the princess she is! Tickets will go on sale the week after the holidays!! Stay tuned for more details... Fall is Here...

We have always said, the typical Posh Principessa outift can be worn all year round (and for many years). Lately, we have been doing just that. The Flower Power outfit from this summer is still one of my favorites, so I would be sad to put it away now that summer is over. I am SO glad we don't have to. For the fall, crisp days...LAYER, LAYER, and LAYER some more. Any of the tank tops or dresses can be worn with a plain shirt underneath. (You can get plain tees at Children's Place or Target.) Layer the skirts and dresses with tights. And if it was really chilly, layer them with a jean jacket and throw on some boots. Layering is in, so why not take advantage of it. In fact, let your princess dress herself with as many layers as she wants. She will have fun doing it, be warm, and feel proud she picked it ALL out by herself. In the first picture, I let Ava layer it herself. Although, she did a little TOO many layers. But, after we took off the tu tu she had OVER the skirt (and left the one she had under) and we took off the bright purple eye shadow she had on her neck, we were out the door.

The pillowcase style dress is the best dress for the price you pay. It can be worn all year, for many years. This dress below is a dress from our Spring 2010 collection. It is a little shorter, but perfect with tights (and next year with jeans). Do the "fall colors" really matter, not to us. Wear pink and bright colors all year. Brighten the days up any way you can :) We put a short sleeve tee under it (but you can do a long sleeve) and our Ruffle Galore Leggings(can find under the FAll 2011 tab) for the chilly mornings that turn into beautiful days.

This dress is from our 2010 Fall line, Sealed With a Kiss. It was one of our most popular dresses, so you probably have one. Well, go get it out of the box downstairs because it has ONE more season left in it :) The sleeves become three-quarter sleeves and it is the perfect tunic this year.

And of course, we always pair up our outfits with a Pocket Full of Posey headband because they are just the right finishing touch :)

I couldn't resist this pic. Ava's teacher at school (who is amazing) mentioned the kiddos should be dressing themselves. It helps them become independent and feel proud. So, when I called Ava's name that is was time to go...she came out of her playroom like this. "Oh My", I thought! We don't have time to change and after all, it looks like she worked really hard on this outfit! Plus, she couldn't be more proud. So, after a quick pic, out the door we went with pink glitter high heels (you can't see them), dance bow in, tutu under tutu, 3 Brookie Cookie Bow's necklaces on, and a shade of lipstick (glasses didn't make the cut). When we walked into the meeting, I just smiled :) They knew we were there and Ava was so happy the entire time...a job well done.

I couldn't post all the pics of Ava and not my son...So, here is a pic of my little principe and I. I just love his smile :)

So, we have enjoyed the pumpkin spice lattes, they have been nice, but we are READY FOR SPRING to get here :) We have purchased some of our fabric and the majority of the line is designed. We are super excited to share it with you. Stay tuned...

On the personal side of things, I wanted to share this FUN idea. Ava loves to draw and is constantly coming home from school with artwork. So, like every parent, you wonder...what in the world am I suppose to do with all this. You hate to throw it away. (and if you have they ALWAYS seem to find it and can't believe that it was in the trash ;) So, I went hunting for the magical idea of where to "store" the artwork. I fell in love with this idea. We got a piece of glass made (from St. Charles Glass and Glazing in Wentzville) for our kitchen table. It is slightly lifted off the table and we can slide Ava's masterpieces right under the table. SHE IS SO PROUD...it looks neat...is a great conversation piece... and is easy to interchange the art. We can stick pictures, draw personalized place mats, store artwork, etc.

Climbing up the Mountain

Two months have gone by since I have blogged... please forgive me ;) We have been busy, busy, busy... Besides finalizing our Fall 2011 line, we have done it all: Six Flags, Grant's Farm, the Zoo, Magic House, Hurricane Harbor, Planet Fun, Swimming almost everyday, etc.

So, it hit me the other day...I realized that my life often feels like it does when climbing a mountain. Every morning, I start at the bottom, and I think of all the things that need to be done. As the day progresses, I take tiny steps up the mountain (rarely stopping for a break or water). I keep climbing up the mountains as I do laundry, dishes, work on Posh, clean-up, run errands, etc. I try to check all the things off my "Things To Do" list as I move up the mountain. Some days climbing the mountain is easier than others. And some days, we climb a lot faster than others. But who cares as long as we make it to the top, right? Then there is that occasional day, when we hit a road block and I just want to turn around and go back down the mountain. When I want to stop though, my kiddos keep pushing me. They motivate me to keep going and going. For the most part, we have a blast climbing the mountain...we manage to laugh a lot and sometimes we even cry. We LOVE when Daddy isn't working and he gets to come with us!! And I can't thank my parents enough for all the times they help me get to the top. When we get lucky, we pass by good friends and family going up the same mountain too. We try to explore as much as we can along the way, and I know we are building memories each step we take. When I (we) get to the top of the mountain, the kiddos are snug in bed, and I collapse as I prepare for another fun climb tomorrow ;) Here is one picture I captured on a recent climb... :)

Since I have started this journey of "mountain climbing", I have also found quite a happy place. I finally figured out a happy balance of being a mom, wife, biz owner, friend, etc. I mean, let's face it, us moms put too much pressure on ourselves. We try to do it all and we are people pleazures. We wear so many hats; we are incredible. I figured out one hat that really fits good... and that's the hat I have been using to climb all day. And by no means am I saying I look good in this hat, or that I am a perfect mom, perfect friend, or perfect biz owner. But I am trying my best and the hat is working...I am getting to the top of the mountain each day. I mean come on...I even managed to clean out the filing cabinets this month (and threw away receipts from 2004????) It only took 33 years, but I came to the realization...what I don't get to "explore" on the way up that day or what doesn't get done on the list, will still be there the next day (unless your hubby or someone does it for you and that's even better :)

So while I am very motivated by my kiddos to go 100 miles per hour up the mountain, I am also quite motivated by my customers too. I enjoy chatting with you, emailing you, and talking with you about your Posh "needs". A perfect example is when I got to work with this amazing mom. We chatted about making the perfect outfits for her upcoming Bliss Eleven photo shoot. The outfits looked adorable on her kids...I mean could this picture be any cuter?? I am so inspired by seeing beautiful kiddos like these in pictures or on the street with Posh clothes on. It is like "getting a gold medal" at the top of the mountain :)

During our last few months of climbing, we were able to complete our Fall 2011 line, and we can't wait to see all the princesses and princes in their Posh clothes. We are exited and have heard by more than one person "this is our best line yet"!!! WOW! That makes me so happy. The line is a little different than in the past...it is smaller...in more ways than one. We are offering about half the items compared to our 2010 Fall Line. And we made less. What does that mean...it means that each of the items in this line, have extra details, and were created with extra love. WE LOVE each item and hope you do too:) We made less (and will not be reordering). So, when they are gone, they are gone. This will make them even more extra special. So, if you are debating... don't debate too long...you don't want the items to be SOLD OUT :)

We will launch our new line at the beginning of September. We are so excited...our photo shoot with Bliss Eleven is less than a week away. We have teamed up with some great stores too for our props that we are using at the shoot. As much as I would love to share all the pics we have taken on our recent journeys, that would take too long...after all, we have to keep climbing... So, I tried to pick the most exciting thing my son did and the most exciting thing my daughter did. BUT our climbs/journeys have been so fun these past few months....I couldn't just pic one, so here are a couple :)

Time flies when you are having fun...Another month has gone by; I just can't believe it!!!

I wanted to start this blog off by sharing a super cute store that I found called Brookie Cookie's Bows. Her page is www.etsy.com/shop/brookiecookiesbows! She made this custom rolled rose necklace that you see in these pics. She has the cutest stuff. Make sure to check out her store and tell her we sent you :)

P.S. The hair accessories are from Pocket Full of Poseys. She made them custom to match these outfits. Check out her facebook for some new headbands that she just made that are very similar to these!

I love to do this blog for a few reasons! The main reason is I LOVE LOVE LOVE to look back at the month and reflect on everything. So, yesterday as I sat down to look at my favorite things from the month, I pulled 16 pictures into my blog folder. Wow...we must have had a fun month, huh :) So I narrowed it down a little...

In case you didn't see this on our Facebook Fan page, one of our FAVORITE items ever made is going to be in our fall line...our patchwork pants. They will be made with different fabrics, but here is an idea...

We just had my son's 6 month (really 5 month) pics taken with Bliss Eleven. We couldn't be more happy with the pics. So, we are REALLY happy to announce we are pairing up with Bliss Eleven, again, to do a super fun...one day only... exclusive to Posh Principessa customers ...event. Most likely the event will be in the middle of August. Stay tuned...

Happy Be-lated Mother's Day :)

It has been a long time since I wrote, so I don't even know where to begin :) My weekly blogs have become monthly blogs, but I am sure you mothers understand. A long list of things to do everyday...praying just to get a couple of things on the list crossed off...the blog always seems to get moved to the next day's list (and so on). I think a mother's day should have at least 5 more hours a day in it, don't you :)

Anyhoo... I thought I would start with this picture!! This is a picture taken from Bliss Eleven Studios of my daughter and her two of her besties :) The thought of this morning puts a permanent smile on my face! To sum it up...it was a magical morning. Watching Ava laugh, smile, and hold her friends' hands was simply adorable. Laurie did an amazing job capturing it all. When more pictures get edited, I will post a few more, but here is one sneak peek...

(For all those moms with little dancers out there...I know it is recital and picture time for dance, I would definately consider setting up a shoot with Bliss Eleven. It was so fun!!)

Happy Be-lated Mother's Day to all...Mother's Day has definately become my favorite "holiday". I had a great day. We celebrated by having a tea party with my mom and kids. We dressed up in fun clothes, hats, rings, necklaces, etc and had "tea". Watching Ava's light up when Mimi put on her clothes was priceless. And when she wanted to do cheers with Mimi, that was even better. I just can't thank my mom enough for all the values, love, and laughter she has given me. I hope I grow up to be just like her one day ;)

I finally made time to re-do my posh princess's room. I used all the fabrics from our previous lines and had a blast doing it!! The room is almost done. All we need to complete it are some of the adorable prints from the dance pics Bliss Eleven just took!!! The frames were made to match the bedding and came from Delta Girl Frames. Reflecting back on the month of May, I couldn't not post this following pic...it is definately a highlight. Mimi taught Ava to pump on the swing...ALL BY HERSELF, so I no longer have to push her. YEAH!!!!!!

And another highlight...Rocco can sit up (for the most part). We have a shoot with Bliss Eleven coming up...so we have been practicing a lot so he can sit up and say cheese for Laurie :)

Mommy's Day Projects

Here is a MUST HAVE for the upcoming holidays or for those everyday projects . We made these Snap Stories for Mother's Day gifts. Ava had a blast. She did everything...picked out the pictures...peeled the sticky off...placed the pictures in... closed the pages, etc. Ta-dah; they were done in a flash and all during our little prince's nap. My favorite part of this project is... it is mess-free (no glue needed and maybe scissors). We took 10 Posh Principessa pictures and 10 baby brother pictures and "snapped" them right into two books. We just love this product. It is so practical and a fun gift or keepsake! Wow is all I can say! I never dreamed of having soo many adorable participates in our Spring Model Search. All the kiddos smiled like they were pros....the night went so smooth...and we had so much fun :) I really enjoyed meeting a lot of our Posh customers too!! Thanks everyone who joined in the fun, whether it was bringing your prince/princess or voting for your favorite pic! I am definately thinking this will be an annual thing or maybe a seasonal thing?? :)

So, I am going to start off on the personal side. Here is a pic of Ava with her friends...this pic is sooo cute...how do I not start off with it...it says a thousand words!!! We had a fun playdate last week with some true princesses getting our toes and nails done. Check them all out. Aren't they all just precious. Here are four of them, the 3.5 other little babies didn't make the pic. With 7.5 kids, I must say, they had a blast and it went smoothly :) Fun times... Getting two kids dressed and myself is usually more tiring than the trip we are making. So, having Ava dress herself is very much appreciated. Lately, she has been cracking me up with some of her outfits. I decided to take a few pics. She ALWAYS layers her clothes. The bottom pic, she has two short sleeve shirts on and two long sleeve shirts on over a Posh dress, with two different colored socks (and a bright yellow bow). She always has some fun shoes on and never forgets her bow. I have trained her well. In one of the pics, she has her Little Gym medal on as her necklace. Somehow, the outfits always come together and kinda look cute. Needless to say, she is so proud of herself, I never make her change...except on the bottom one... four shirts just weren't necessary ;)

We had a fun time at the Go St. Louis race too. Here is a picture of Ava hugging me after I finished. There is nothing like crossing the finish line to see your daughter's proud smile. Getting a huge hug and a kiss from the hubby are definately worth running 13 miles for (in the heat) ;)

A lot of fun things are happening this week. The Bliss Eleven and I Am What I Am Grand Opening is this weekend. I will be down there Friday evening. Stop in and say hi. And you can see some of our spring line in person :) We are also looking forward to our first Spring Model Search that we are doing with Puddle Ducks and Bliss Eleven. We have 50+ entries and can't wait to see all those cutie pies!! Our entire spring line will be at Puddle Ducks too...this Sunday from 3:00 until we close the dooors :)

Let's just start this blog off by saying, only 59 more fans until we have 1,000. Super exciting, right :) Last week was a great week!! I finally made time to create Ava something fun and unique, after all that is what I love to do most!! I took an old Mets shirt (sorry Cardinals dress is next) and turned it into a dress. It is funky and comfy! I definately see some more of these vintage tshirt dresses on the way, maybe an OOAK dress just for you. Check it out...

Everyone is always saying how fun girls are to dress. Well, boys are too!! Look at some of these cuties that are all sporting Posh :)

Ava, Mommy, and Rocco also went to their first Tea Party! Thinking about the magical day puts a smile on my face everytime I think of it. We were joined with great friends, good "tea", princess tunes, fun clothes, and 3 hilarious three year old personalities. It really doesn't get any better than that!! Here are a few pics.

And just when we thought the weekend couldn't get any better, we finished it off with a great b-day party with friends :) Super fun!!!

We constantly hear "I wish my girls could still wear your stuff". Well, check out this pic. This beautiful 9 year old, is wearing a size 3 "dress". These dresses literally can be worn for years. It starts as a dress, turns into a tunic, and then it can be worn as a shirt :) She paired the dress with a tutu and boots to make it extra funky :) A long sleeve shirt can be worn in the winter and a short sleeve in the spring. On the personal side... we apparently moved to "Pleasantville" and I didn't even know it. Rocco starting sleeping through the night last week (and I don't mean 6-7 hrs either, 12 HOURS :) As if sleeping through the night isn't good enough, in the morning, he coos (spelling?) to wake up instead of screaming. Oh...I love him dearly :) And then Miss Ava, comes in...oh so early in the morning, but how can you not be happy to see her....when she awakes you with a kiss every morning :) (That was the best rule I have made in the house so far!!)

We always have people ask us for boys' clothes...you ask...you receive :) Check out these adorable pictures taken by Bliss Eleven with our new Music From the Heart shirt. This shirt is great for pictures, yet super fun to wear everyday. It's all BOY!! Dress it up with khakis or wear it everyday with jeans/shorts. Layering it gives it a funky look too!

The vintage tie is a Made-to-Match tie for the Little Miss Sunshine tie-knot dress. This will be great with Easter coming up! The tie is reversible, so you can match two PP dresses (or put baseballs or something else on the other side!).

We have been so busy with our Spring 2011 line, we haven't been sewing many unique creations (which is one of my favorite things to do!!) So, we are going to (try anyway) to make a OOAK (one-of-a-kind) dress each week, in random sizes. This weeks dress, WE LOVE! Enough about Posh :) Let's talk about some personal stuff. I am super excited to say that I am officially ALL caught up with my digital scrapbooking FOR AVA AND ROCCO. I never thought the day would come that I would be done scrapping Rocco's arrival, our newborn session with Bliss Eleven, Ava's birthday, Dance and Basketball pics, Posh Spring 2011 line pics, etc., etc! Fox 2 News with Tim Ezell

When I woke up at 4:30 am this morning (thanks Rocco for almost sleeping through the night :), I never thought the ground would be covered with SNOW. Afterall, we were going down to the station to talk about our SPRING line (not fall/winter line). So, having the best friends in the world, we hop in the car and head out in the March blizzard. We left an hour and a half early, so this should be plenty of time, right? Cars were in the ditch all over...2+ hours later, we roll into the station and have 10 minutes to get 4 kids to the bathroom and dressed!! We pulled it off with about 30 seconds to spare. The kids did great and we all had fun (once we got there)!! I will post the link once it is up :)

Shooting for our new Posh Principessa lines are always fun, but it isn't easy as it looks. Ava acts silly, mommy acts silly, Laurie's sneezing trick is silly, and the spider in Laurie's camera is silly. Check out some of the silly behind the scene pics...

By the look on Ava's face, you are probably asking yourself "what in the world is mommy doing behind Laurie to try to make her laugh?" Well, that will be our little secret, won't it :) My motto is...I will do (almost) anything as long as we get a good pic, right? :)

We are going to be doing the Tim Ezell show THIS MONDAY morning at 9:00am. Sounds like so much fun, right? Well, it is going to be fun alright, for the fans watching because it is LIVE. There is no editing, no redoing, no cropping. You will see the true Posh Principessa colors this Monday. Does this make me just a little worried? No, not at all. My princess (diva) will be my little star no matter what :) (crossing my finger right now)

Thanks to Another "Team Posh" Member

So, this member of "team Posh" isn't who I had in mind to thank tonight. In fact, it didn't really hit me until today that this person deserved so much recognition. It is my princess, Ava. We did our spring line photo shoot with Bliss Eleven Studios (by Laurie Nowling). I tried to "pump" her up about it yesterday. I guess it worked because this morning when she got up at 6:00 a.m. (like usual), she told her daddy that she needed to go back to bed to get ready for her photo shoot today. HAHA. She stayed in bed another hour. WOW!! (Can Laurie take pics everyday??).

When we started this spring/summer shoot (sleeveless dresses), it was 32 degrees, then it went up to 34 degrees, and then 40 degrees (and then it finally got HOT to 50 degrees). My strong determined lil princess, just kept smiling away. Okay, it wasn't that easy. She was shivery in a few pics, but I know Laurie got some good ones! We took about 500 pics and wore 9 different outfits. For a three year old, I must say, she cooperated pretty good. Although, mommy and Laurie did have a lot of tricks in our bag (some blew away and we ate some), but they seemed to work. Here is proof of one trick.

After all, she is the reason PP started. Not only should I thank her for that, but...I should thank her for being my nonstop model. She loves wearing mommie's dresses. Today she told me "mommy, I don't need you to make me anymore dresses. I have enough." I am so very thankful to have her on Team Posh :)

I fell in love with her designs. Her style is modern, quite trendy, and super fun! Plus, her customer service is amazing. Megan also just introduced the Kole frames to her shop. Super cute!

I met her in December of 2009 and am so thankful for that. Her talents are out of this world...she makes it all...flip flops, clips, hats, headbands, sun hats, etc. Most of her items are OOAK (one-of-a-kind), so that makes them extra special. Spring 2011 Journey

As my spring line gets closer and closer to being complete, I can't help but to reflect back on the process. It is sort of like planning a wedding...you work and work on it, you wonder...how is this all going to come together. And then the day comes when you get married or you launch the line and you are so happy :) Well, this brings me to my next thought. I have met some of the sweetest people during my Posh journey. I have been blessed to meet so many creative and amazing business owners, store owners, and customers that make everything possible for me. They really make me look good so I wanted to give a thanks to a few of them. So, for the next few days, I am going to share some of my favorite businesses with you that make it all happen. Thank you snow days... for making my life so entertaining!

Wow! It has been so long, I don't even know where to begin! My precious little baby boy, Rocco was born right after Christmas. So, when I have a few free minutes, blogging is on the bottom of the list. As you can see in the picture above, my darling princess loves to turn the house upside down. So, a lot of my free time is picking up and up and up again.

On the Posh side of things, we are SUPER excited...we received three of our spring line samples tonight and love them. All of the dresses are officially part of the family, as they have all been named (this isn't easy , ya know?) The Spring 2011 line is full of color, new styles, and some amazing fabrics (including a knit fabric). Oh and I can't forget to mention, there is a button up colored shirt for our princes. This is our favorite line yet. We are hoping to have it ready in March.

Rocco's room is officially ready. We are missing one piece of furniture and the Wild Sorbet frames need some cute little pictures of Rocco in them :) The train is up and running and (I must say) is my favorite part of the room. It is loud, but Ava (and Daddy) love it too!! Here is one pic!

We had a nice time having breakfast with Santa at the zoo on Saturday. It is fun because Ava loves Santa and doesn't cry anymore :) It melts my heart to watch her with him...she tells him she has been good...and all the things she wants. She says Rudolph was her favorite :)

And I had to post one last prego pic...

Tonight we are off to Tilles Park for a horse and carriage ride to watch the lights. We are excited to be going with dear friends and excited to freeze our bottoms off...if I don't post next week, I'm still frozen :)

How did a week go past and I didn't even blog? Where does the time go? I have been so busy doing custom orders, getting ready for xmas (in case little Rocco comes earlier than expected), being a mom, and everything else...

Since Thanksgiving passed, I can't help but to name a few things that I am thankful for.
1) The opportunity to be a mom. Ava brings so much laughter and joy to our house; I can't even put it into words. (and Yogi too)
2) A loving husband that works so hard and allows Ava and I to have the most amazing life. Thanks honey :)
3) Parents who are the perfect role models . They have taught me how to love and what family is all about!
4) Health and Happiness. I am so blessed to have a healthy family and such wonderful friends that bring so much happiness to my life!!
5) Wonderful customers :)

Speaking of wonderful customers...thanks to all of you who sent in pics of your lil' princesses. They were ALL so adorable! I couldn't have dreamed of having so many cuties wearing Posh P clothes! The contest was so close and came down to the last few minutes. Thanks to everyone who voted too. We had over 250 votes!! Congrats to Aubrey (1st place), Graycen (2nd place), and Averi (3rd place)!

The picture below is a picture that Ava made with her hands that I wanted to share. I found this place off of Main Street and LOVE it. She got to pick out her design, her colors of paint, and her frame color. They used her hands to make this adorable monkey! We hung it up in her play room. The place is called MyHandyWorks. If you are feeling crafty, stop by and check it out :)
The last pic is a pic of Ava and her Mimi at the movie Tangled. We weren't sure how Ava would do wearing the 3-D glasses for the entire movie. She loved it (and we loved it too ;)

BTW, if you are wondering about my blog title, this is Ava's favorite song. We have to listen to it a MILLION times a day. And when we aren't listening to it, the song is in my head. How do you even spell it...who knows...

Wow! I couldn't have dreamed of having so many cuties wearing Posh Principessa clothes. There are 23 kiddos in our Fall 2010 Contest with about 250 votes so far :) The contest will end November 19th at 8:00 am ;)

Here is a picture of one of the cutest little babies in the world wearing her first Posh outfit. She is my first niece, Ella :) So cute!!!! I'm dying to meet her!

Okay Moms...you can relate... kids are hilarious! There isn't a day that goes by that Ava doesn't make me laugh! This week, she has really been cracking me up :) The first pic is a picture of her walking around with a "baby in her belly". The second pic is a picture of her with this crazy outfit on. When I asked her what she had on, she explained... that her pants wouldn't button so she needed the shorts on over her jeans (so she was wearing a "bella band" just like her mom, ha). The last picture melted my heart. She made a bed for her, her baby, and Yogi. They were "taking a nap". Sweet ;)

So, another part of motherhood that I love is watching Ava and her daddy play. This next pic shows Daddy and his mini-me. We bought Ava some scrubs so she could be just like her daddy.

Every night when Ava and I are playing, we listen for the famous honk. When we hear it, we know daddy is home and we have to run and hide. We put Yogi outside quick so she doesn't see where we go. I used to hide with Ava, although now I don't fit in too many spaces. Then the hunt begins. Yogi always helps daddy and takes him right to where Ava is :( The pic below is a pic of our best spot yet. Yogi took Daddy right to the hamper. He laughed and said "I know she isn't in there" and he left the room. FINALLY, we tricked him...

We also wanted to post this fun picture of our Posh Principessa skating for the first time at the skating rink. She went around three times and I loved every minute of it. She was trying so hard and was so brave ;) She wanted to be like the "big" kids!

My mom always made the most AMAZING costumes for my sister and I. Every year, my sister got to pick what she wanted to be and I was lucky enough to get to wear that costume the following year. Well, I finally got to pick my very own in the year of 1987...and I picked Fredbird. My mom worked and worked on it...Fredbird I was ;)

Ava, Daddy, and I were surprised at Mimi's house on halloween when Fredbird opened the door to greet us ;) Looking back now, I am amazed at my mom's talent and the time she spent to make this from scratch, with no pattern. Thanks Mom for being the best at everything you do ;)

Ava had fun trick-or-treating! She had quite a few parties this week, dance, her babysitters, trick-or-treating at the Meadows, Boo at the Zoo, and trick-or-treating on Sunday. Candy...candy...candy...

Few more months until little baby Albanese comes. His room is almost ready...just waiting on the furniture. Super excited to show some pics when it is ALL complete :) Couldn't help but to post this sign that I saw at the Magic House this week. I have been to the Magic House a lot the last few years and have never seen this before. This time, the sign jumped out at me...

Posh Principessa will be at lots of upcoming holiday events. This week we will be at Kirkwood United Methodist Preschool (on the 3rd and 4th), Finders Keepers (the evening of the 4th), and at the Columns in St. Charles (on the 5th). Work and Play

We had a great time meeting lots of new customers and seeing some "regular" customers at the Ladue Early Childhood Center Show last week. We also really enjoyed meeting one very talented lady, Emma! (I have said this all along my Posh Principessa journey, meeting local- talented women, business owners is one of the many perks of Posh Principessa.) So, lets talk about Emma...besides she is the sweetest lady, she makes the custest Snap Stories. These books are unique, durable, and simply adorable. Each page in the book has self-adhesive tape around it. So, after you place your own PERSONAL picture, you pull the self-adhesive tape and complete the book. So, as you know...I'm not all work, I do like to play. This week Mimi, Ava, and I played at the circus. We had so much fun, I was sad when the day was over. Ava's favorite part of the circus was watching the elephant paint; I loved the motorcyles in the ball, and (as you can tell) Mimi liked the tall guy on stilts :)

One of Many Basketball Lessons From Papa

This picture just melts my heart. As many of you know, back in the day...I used to play basketball (and then coach). This was before I learned to sew ;) My dad gave me many many many basketball lessons (he does still hold the scoring record at his high school...he knows "his stuff" :) So, when he was patiently showing Ava how to shoot tonight, and she was really listening, I couldn't get the camera fast enough. Love Love this pic!!

So many things to write about this week...in case you didn't see on facebook, Laurie Nowling entered my living room wall display into the Wild Sorbet contest. It won first place in the home category, so it (with Ava in her Posh P. clothes) will be in their next catalog! :)

If you haven't already, stop by Lollitops off of Main Street in St. Charles. They carry a wide selection of our fall clothing line AND have the most adorable coordinating hats to match. They also have a kiosk with a wide Posh P. selection in West County mall next to Gymboree.

This beautiful weather will put a smile on anyone's face!! Ava and I had a nice day at the butterfly house seeing the owl butterflies (who knew there was such a thing). But, we had even more fun at the park outside the butterfly house.

We made it to Theis pumpkin patch. It is definately worth going to. There is so much for the kiddos to do. Although, I have to say...we (Ava and I) went into one of the mazes. It was REALLY scary...pitch black...I was starting to have a panic attack...trying to stay calm...luckily a 10 year old behind us had a flash light...I literally begged him to stay next to me until we got out.

First Time for Everything

Wow...I have never been apple picking before yesterday...I LOVE it! We had the best time ever!! It was quite a journey to get there, but well worth every minute. The play area, the apple cider, hot cocoa, the pumpkins, picking the apples, eating the candy apples, etc. So fun!! (and I just can't wait to make apple pancakes and baked apples today!!) Here are a few pics...

Fall has officially arrived. We had a blast this summer, although we are excited for cooler weather, the pumpkin patches, sweatshirts, hot cocoa, and turning on the fireplace :) Take a look at our first trip to the pumpkin patch this fall. Ava had a blast...she got to eat her first candy apple, picked out her very own pumpkin, swing, go done the slide, play in the corn, pet the animals...

Fun New Items in the Posh Principessa Family

Here are a few new items that are on our website. We LOVE the new burnout tees with the ties. The tie can be an actual tie sewn to the shirt at the top or a vintage tie with the frayed edges sewn to the shirt. These are great for pictures, can be worn casually, or dressy. Perfect for layering this fall ;) The other new item is one of my new favorite Ellen dresses, One Fine Day. The retro look makes it fun and funky!!

We had a fun weekend. We went to see Princesses Disney On Ice. Ava loved her snow cone, seeing Minnie and Mickey, and Cinderella. Good times :)

Big Heart :)

Here is a little posh outfit we made for our dear Maggie. Maggie had open heart surgery to correct a congenital heart defect she was born with on June 4th. Her mother, Renae, bought her a Nap Nanny. It is a soft slightly inclined chair designed to help infants with acid reflux. Renae thought this looked like a comfortable way to help dear Maggie recover. Everyone at St. Louis Children's hospital also fell in love with the chair. In fact, they renamed the chair "Queen Chair".

Renae has paired up with the owner of Nap Nanny, Leslie, and is raising money to donate 12 Nap Nannys to the cardiac ICU at St. Louis Children's hospital. The owner is giving Renae an amazing discount of about 75% off the chairs. Renae needs to raise $600 to give 12 chairs, allowing each room to have one of these beds. Wow...this is amazing. What a great cause. All of the rooms now have a rubber mattress that the babies recover on.

Our lil' posh prince is definately growing! Ava tells me how big my belly is all the time :) This is my first prego pic so we hope you enjoy it ;)

I have had a fun week FINALLY taking some time to make our lil' posh prince to be some new clothes. We did a few onesies/shirts :)

We are planning on having a button up collored shirt in our spring line and are so excited about that (by the way, the spring line is coming along, wish fall clothes were here already :(

Ava got her first hair cut this week at the Hairy Elephant...

It went well, even if they did cut her bangs too short ;) They cut it better than Ava did herself a few weeks ago, ha!

This last pic I couldn't help but to post. Ava had fun dressing up in her tutus today. This outfit was the best though...tutu worn as a dress...four clips in her hair...rain boots..and the sweetest face you'll ever see :) Have a great week...

Loving Life

Life is good... the weather is beautiful and we can finally go outside and play :)

We took a trip to see the arch this week. Ava and I went to the top and were able to see "Fredbird's house". Ava thought the tiny cars were cute :) We finished the trip with a picnic with the squirrels!

Saturday we went to the zoo with Daddy, along with everyone else in St. Louis. I have never seen so many people...and I have never seen so many animals. They were all out enjoying the nice weather too. Family time is amazing...I just can't put it into words.

Monday we finished the weekend off with a beautiful family bike ride at Forest Park. We stopped once for Ava to throw rocks in the creek, and she had a blast. I pulled her in the bike carriage and up the hills she gave me nice encouragement... "Mommy, why are you going so slow." Just love the honesty in a 2 year old ;)

Fun Week

We started off the week with a horse ride on Oliver. Ava loves to go to my Aunt's house to play with the dogs, cats, and to see Oliver :) She was waiting "patiently" for her turn to ride the horse.

Then, we took a fieldtrip to the City Museum. I had never been before and didn't know what to expect. We had a nice time, after we finally got to park. (Didn't have cash on me for parking, Atm card was expired, and left my license in my gym bag :( Once we got in, it was completely empty; we had the entire place to ourselves! Ava got her face painted, played with the clay, went down the big slide, drew a picture, and played the piano.

As the week went on, it got a little more dramatic...

I have always liked to be unique (after all that is how Posh Principessa started)...

So when people tell me "everyone did it when they were 2"... doesn't make it better!!!

AVA CUT HER HAIR :( I was so upset; she was so upset. She wanted it back on :( It was a little chunk in the back, I could definately notice it, but daddy couldn't. Someone told me I will think it is funny when I look back in a few years...we'll see because I don't see any giggles/smiles in the near future!

The last pic is a custom outfit that I did this week. I have been really bad at taking pics of the custom items I do. I just loved this one (I love them all though), so I wanted to share! It is made out of our new Somewhere Over the Rainbow fabric!

It's A...

We are so excited to share our news with you...

We found out this week that we are having a little boy. Ava is so excited... Daddy's smile was so big when he found out, he could barely fit through the door... and Mommy has had fun filling up his closet with clothes already :) This is the first boy in our house, my parent's house, and my sister's house (including dogs). Finally, Grandpa will have a partner in crime!

So...Ava has the best sitter in the world. She is so calm and patient, and Ava loves it at her house. They have so much fun!! This week Ava had her first Show-N-Tell. I have to admit, I was more excited than she was. Wasn't this the cutest idea? We had to put something orange, red, blue, and green in her bag. I hunted through the entire house, this was hard. I wanted to find the most fun things:) So, we found a red "A" for her name, an orange basketball to show everyone how to shoot, a green "PICKLEHEAD" (the famous name calling word at Mindy's), and a blue carriage for her new baby brother. Ava is so lucky to have Mindy in her "village".

Love Is In the Air

So, Ava did it. After talking about it, practicing it, and talking about it some more...she walked down the aisle of a wedding with 400 people, hugged the groom, and ran to sit by MiMi. I cried. I was so proud of her, but I must admit... I cried throughout the entire wedding. There is something about weddings, I love them. They were tears of joy! Seeing two people so in love, witnessing their magical day, is one of my top ten things to do on a Saturday afternoon ;) I must say too, this couple is the most adorable couple on the inside and out ;)

Thanks Megan and Shawn for including Ava in your special day!! We had a blast!

Ava got her hair done for the first time and told the beautician that she wanted "bananas" in her hair ;)

Papa taught Ava a new dance move and she screamed at 10:30 when we made her stop dancing to come home ; (

AND we have one more celebration for the week. Papa Nick is turning 90 :) Happy Birthday, we love you!!

Coming This September

We are sad that summer is coming to an end but super excited that our fall line is almost here. So, I must start off saying thanks so much to Laurie Nowling Photography. We did our fall shoot yesterday in the 98 degree weather for THREE hours....yes...THREE hours. Laurie is so patient and talented. God sent me an angel when he sent her my way! I just love the pics, I looked at them all day. Ava was quite the model. I must say each shoot gets easier and easier, not saying yesterday was easy with the heat and changing a million outfits, but... Ava was a doll. I may be bias too ;) She was asking where to put her hands, and sticking out her "cooley", smiling, and eating lots of M & M's. So, the secrets are out...we just couldn't take it anymore! We hope you enjoy our sneak peek!

This is one of my faves ;) (really, a fave, they all are!)This was her "shy look"...because she is so shy, yeah right!

And I saved the best for last. This pic has so much meaning! Besides I love the pic, the outfit, and the million words that this pic says, I LOVE the fact that this wagon is my grandma's mom's wagon! Yes, so over a century old :)

Bye Bye Things To Do List

I got so much stuff done this week, I must say I am a little proud of myself ;) Besides the typical laundry, ironing, and "mom duties" like swim lessons, Monkey Joes, etc, I did things that were on my list of things to do for a long time! (and it feels so good!) I finally scrapbooked the pics from our Disney Cruise in June. Granted I stayed up way too late, but once I started, I felt like I was reliving the trip all over again. I didn't want to close the computer in fear that the "dream" would be over :) Here are a few of the finished pages. P.S. If you haven't ever done digital scrapbooking, you should try it! I love love love it! So quick and easy (and cheaper than paper scrapbooking)! I have a bunch of themes for every occasion, so I don't just have to use one theme like on Shutterfly!

So, after getting over 100 pics done, I am one step closer to finishing the rest of the pics from this summer! Going done the "list"...

I went through my HUGE stash of fabrics and made some OOAK dresses (one of a kinds). Check them out... Christmas in July...on sale for $30. They will be delivered to my stores this week, so if you would like one, let me know soon!

Going done the list :)...I have been wanting new pics in my living room since Posh Principessa opened last June. So, in December, I took my old pics down. This week, I finally got my new pics and LOVE THEM! I took some pics of the pics. They do not show the details of the frames, but they are Wild Sorbet...hand painted with some polka dots, different trims, and different colors! It was definately worth the wait. Laurie Nowling deserves some recognition for sitting down with me and helping me design them. Thanks Laurie ;)

We are super excited...Pocket Full of Poseys, the company that makes our headbands, will be featured on Show Me St. Louis this Friday at 3:00 p.m. We are honored that Ava gets to model some headbands :) Make sure to watch!!!

We have a new dress, An Apple A Day, that we posted under the Ellen category. It is a limited edition. Check it out ;)

We went to see Fredbird this weekend. It was a hot one. Daddy complained more than Ava, but we had a great time :) Ava loved her GIGANTIC icecream! She shortly turned it into a shake and drank it with a straw ;)

Friends, Family, and Fun

I received a ton of compliments on the blog. Thanks everyone and for my devoted 3 followers ;)

Wow...we had an amazing week of friends, family and fun!! We started the week off with a much needed trip with Ava's BFF to Grant's Farm. The girls had a great time seeing/feeding the animals and most importantly, eating the lollipops!! They truly were angels ;) Next adventure was to the zoo. Ava got to see 2 elephants swim. It was so neat! We also tried the Zooimagination stations. It was really cute, and Ava had a lot of fun. She got to dress up like certain animals (the froggie was her fave), play in the sand, draw, etc. It was a nice break from the heat...Try it out if you haven't :) On to the Magic House for a birthday party. In the one picture, she is living in that "glass bubble" that us parents sometimes make for our kiddos, ha! We threw in a couple pool parties to complete the week and had one TIRED mommy.

So about a month ago, my friend Erin designed a few owls for Posh. Our facebook fans voted on their faves... we made a few changes...we played around with the fabric selections...and we have created the most adorable owl ever!!!! It will be paired with a pair of double ruffle pants for the fall. You're gonna love it ;) I will give a sneak peek soon!!! Thanks, Erin...xoxo!

Happy Fourth of July

So, drumroll please...here it is...my first official post on my new blog. Follow me, be patient with me, and enjoy :)

We had a nice relaxing July 4th. We did lots of tubing, swimming, "bbq"ing and eating of Mimi's homeade icecream ;) I must say I am so proud of myself, I even VIDEOTAPED Ava 3 different times. No matter how hard I try to do it, the camera just seems easier. I am mean really, can you take the baby dolls, camera, snacks, and video camera????

So onto Posh Principessa. ALL of the fabric is ordered (plus some) and all of the designs are complete. We are hoping to have a fall launch September 1st ish. (And maybe a sneak peek at Finders Keepers in August ;) We are so excited... we can barely keep it a secret.
